The Ovations

Despite having only one Top Ten R&B hit, the Ovations were a superb Southern soul trio. The original group featured Louis Williams and made some great ballads that were sung so vividly and produced in such raw fashion that they never reached the wider soul market. Though they reached the R&B charts twice during the late '60s (with "It's Wonderful to Be in Love" and "Me and My Imagination"), the group eventually disbanded.
