Scott McKenzie

Scott McKenzie (born Philip Scott Blondheim 10 January 1939, Jacksonville, Florida, died August 18, 2012 in Los Angeles) was a singer best known for his 1967 hit of San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair) (written by John Phillips and later featured in the movie Forrest Gump). In 1986 McKenzie began singing with a new version of The Mamas and the Papas. In 1988 McKenzie wrote (with John Phillips, Mike Love and Terry Melcher) the Beach Boys #1 hit “Kokomo.
